One evening , a few years ago, I went to the “Bitter Dix” concert, there a local cover band, which was very fashionable at the time and had a singer who was and excellent guitarist, astounded me a great deal because during the performance he continuously alternated his guitars with acoustic and electric for at least ten times until he got fed up and sang without playing anymore. On my way home I thought to myself, why not make a guitar with the piezo bridge? I thought of a particular form, something like a Tele, and thinking about the acoustic I decided to realize a THINLINE with three tonal chambers, and so came to being the line of production that at the moment is that which has the highest demand. The tonal chambers are tunned amongst themselves and with the neck. Making a “tap tunning” on parts of the body, three different notes can be distinguished i.e. the fundamental note in which the instrument has been tunned, the third and the fifth; playing single notes or various tunes with more sounds a natural harmony is produced, so enriching the sound making it really unique.The instrument results extremely versatile and the possibility to couple the acoustic sound with the electric one through a stereo oulet opens new horizons in the universe of sound, interesting acoustics can be obtained, these ranging from country, blues, jazz, rock, right up to the imaginary music (Pasquale Di Resta), depending on the configuration of the magnetic pickups one wants to install.

The control panel is entirely hand-made with an orginal design obtained from a 2mm. plate of stainless steel; it provides an on/on/on selector with which one can obtain the acoustic, the electric and the mix on the centre position, another selector of 3 or 5 positions for the pickup change, the magnetic volume, the piezo volume and the magnetic tunes. The waiting list, at the moment, is about three months from the date of order.

The instruments of the “ACOUSTIC/ELECTRIC” line have some particularities in common; in any case some modifications can be made with respect to the basic model.

The points in common are:

HIGHLY FIGURED(AAAA) TIMBERS, WELL SEASONED, AND PROVIDED WITH ACOUSTIC CHARACTERISTICS FOR A GOOD TRANSMISSION OF THE SOUND WAVES THROUGH THE TIMBER FIBRES;

PARTICULAR THINLINE SHAPE OF THE BODY WITH LARGE TONAL CHAMBERS AND AN “F” HOLE IN THE SUPERIOR PORTION OF THE BODY;

ROUNDING OFF OF THE POSTERIOR PART FOR A GOOD ADHERENCE TO THE
MUSICAN’S BODY;

FIXING OF BODY/NECK THROUGH FOUR SCREWS ENCLOSED WITHIN THE BODY AND ROUNDING OFF OF THE SUPPORT FOR A BETTER ACCESS TO THE LAST KEYS;

THE POSTERIOR PART OF THE NECK IS FINISHED WITH TUNG OIL AND HAS AN ASYMMETRICAL PROFILE IN ORDER TO GIVE LESS TENSION TO THE LEFT ARM AND HAND MUSCLES;

PERSONALIZED CHOICE OF THE MAGNETIC PICKUPS AND THE PRESENCE OF THE PIEZO ELECTRIC BRIDGE WITH TOTAL PROTECTION AND EARTHING OF THE WHOLE ELECTRIC CIRCUIT;

FINISHING WITH NITROCELLULOSE VARNISH “LAURENCE MACFADDEN”, SPECIFICLY MADE FOR GIUTARS IN USA AND USED ON HIGH LEVEL INSTRUMENTS (BOB BENEDETTO JAZZ GUITARS);

THE INSTRUMENTS ARE ENTIRELY HAND MADE.
